directmail includes an option "Spool dispatch" with which spool files from IBM i can be conveniently distributed to business partners, field staff, representatives, etc. via e-mail. Without paper, in an attractive format and above all unrivalled fast.

Possibilities of the spool dispatch

Integrated in applications with the command SNDSPLEML

If the name of the spool file is known, it can be sent using the IBM i command SNDSPLEML. The description of the command can be found on the page CL-Befehle von directspool/directmail.

In dialog via WRKSPLF (menu selection 13)

Alternatively, you can also send spool files using the IBM i command WRKSPLF "Work with spool files".

0293 - Display WRKSPLF

Select the spool file to be sent using selection 1.

0294 - Mail system selection

For sending via directmail select *EMAIL as mail system. The other parameters are analogous to the chapter Send spool file via e-mail (menu selection 12)

0295 - Send spool file

In the dialog via WRKOUTQ (menu selection 14)

Alternatively, you can also send spool files using the IBM i command WRKOUTQ "Work with output queues".

0296 - Display WRKOUTQ

Output queue

Enter the name of the output queue from which you want to send a spool file.

0297 - Work with output queue

Select the spool file to send with choice 1.

0298 - Select mail system

For sending via directmail select *EMAIL as mail system. The further parameters are analogous to the chapter Send spool file via e-mail (menu selection 12)
